Does Elevated LDL-C Cause Cardiovascular Disease?

Because limiting carbohydrate intake means those on a ketogenic or LCHF (low-carb, high fat or low-carb, healthy fat) diet must get more of their fuel from fat, many people are naturally concerned that it could increase their heart disease risk.

I say "naturally" only because for the last 50+ years we have been taught that fat is dangerous, especially the so-called "artery-clogging saturated fat."

This is one of the major ways the medical-pharmaceutical-insurance complex has misled us, with disastrous and expensive results.

This video featuring David Diamond, Ph.D. delivers a comprehensive critique of the LDL-cholesterol-cardiovascular disease hypothesis. Dr. Diamond, whose Twitter username is @LDLSkeptic, is a neuroscientist by training but was driven to investigate the research on cholesterol and heart disease when his physician wanted to prescribe a statin due to his lipid panel results.

It's well worth your time to watch, although it may cause at least a temporary increase in your blood pressure.
