Nearly 1 of 3 Americans avoiding health care due to cost concerns
A recent Gallup survey shows the need for new health care options like HELPcare Clinic.
As CBS News reported ,
Nearly a third of Americans — triple the share since March— say they've skipped medical care for a health problem in the previous three months due to concerns about the cost, according to a new study from Gallup and West Health.
CBS News Moneywatch, December 14, 2021
Other key findings:
- Even higher-income Americans are affected, as 1 in 5 households with income over $120,000 have skipped care.
- 23% of Americans say paying for health care is a major financial burden due to rising insurance premiums and out-of-pocket costs.
- Over half of U.S. adults said "their most recent health care experience wasn't worth the cost."
- "Overall, 9 in 10 Americans say people are paying too much for the quality of health care they are receiving."

We agree the current health care system is too expensive, and that's why we're helping Dr. David Strobel start HELPcare Clinic in Austin, Minn.
Through an affordable membership, HELPcare Clinic will provide most of the care most people need for most of their lives. Members also will appreciate unhurried appointments and the primary and preventive care experience Dr. Strobel describes here.
We signed the clinic facility lease last week and plan to open the clinic in February.
HELPcare offers HELPcare Community and HELPcare Coach to anyone, anywhere. Through education, peer support and coaching we will help people improve their health through lifestyle changes. HELPcare also provides management services and support to Dr. Strobel's HELPcare Clinic.
HELPcare Clinic will start with just the Austin location, and as it grows we plan to help Dr. Strobel recruit additional providers to join him in serving our community.
We also hope other physicians and providers will establish affiliated HELPcare Clinics in their communities. HELPcare will provide management services (and community support) for those provider-owned clinics, too.
If you're an interested MD, PA or NP, send me an email and we'll be glad to discuss the HELPcare Clinic vision with you.
