Happy Birthday Dr. Dave Strobel!
Today the whole HELPcare Clinic family joins in good-natured ribbing of Dr. Dave Strobel as he starts his seventh decade of breathing oxygen.
Dr. Dave is observing his 60th birthday today, and we're turning it into a week-long celebration.
One of his sons gave him a fossil and a jar of dirt on Monday, saying "I wanted to surround you with things younger than yourself."
Compared to that, we're being positively respectful.
Sure, we're hanging the black crepe paper.
And we put the wind-up dinosaur toys by his computer keyboard.
And we're making him wear this button all day:
But we're also treating him to the finest in grain-free, ketogenic birthday treats he could imagine, including Lisa's amazing Tiramisu.
Lorene, Lisa and I know we're just a few months from our turns wearing that button.
Dr. Dave has been a blessing to us and to our entire Austin community.
He's a great friend and an amazing family doctor.
I'm honored to know him and to have helped him establish a new practice at HELPcare Clinic that enables him to provide the kind of warm, consistent, personal, unhurried care that many have missed in the modern health care system.
He has over 30 years of experience as a family physician...and he's just getting started.
As he noted this morning, he's 20 years younger than Moses was when he was called to the major project that defined his life.
So Dr. Dave figures he kind of has a head start as he's begun his new clinic!
