Browned Butter Bites: Cuisine HELP

If you like butter, you'll love these.

Many people can struggle to make sure they are getting enough healthy fats when on a ketogenic diet. They do a good job of limiting carbs, but its not always easy to find those healthy fat options over the course of a busy day.

These take less than 10 minutes to make, and when you're done you'll have a new go-to snack or meal replacement, and you'll know your fat levels are where they need to be.

Dr. Strobel calls them "keto candy" because he likes them so much! Just follow the recipe below to try them for yourself!

Simple Ingredients

Browned Butter Bites have one essential ingredient: Butter.

We start with a block of Kerrygold Pure Irish Butter.

I add some pre-cooked bacon crumbles too.

Aside from a pan in which to melt and brown the butter, the only other thing you need is a mini-muffin pan and a ladle to fill the compartments.

I use a silicone muffin pan because it's easier to remove the finished butter bites than it would be from a metal pan, but any kind of mold works.

Here's how you do it!

Melt the butter over low-to-medium heat.
Cutting the block into pieces helps it melt more quickly.
Stir constantly to keep the butter from burning.
As you continue heating and stirring, it will become foamy.
As the foam starts to subside, you'll see brown streaks begin to develop.
Remove from heat, and use a ladle to fill the molds.
Top with bacon bits, and place the muffin pan in the freezer.
After an hour or so, take the pan from the freezer and remove the frozen browned butter bites.
Keep the finished bites in a bag in the freezer for a quick and satisfying treat.

Enjoying Browned Butter Bites

While it's certainly possible to just pop one of these in your mouth, eating it whole, my husband Lee recommends a different approach.

Bite off a piece and let it melt in your mouth so you can savor the flavor as you let it roll around over you your tongue. As Lee says, with a reasonable degree of self-control you can extend your enjoyment of this delicious treat by several minutes.

Giving Credit Where It's Due

I found this two-ingredient recipe on Neisha Salas-Berry's YouTube channel. As she notes in that video, one of the benefits of Browned Butter Bites with Bacon as compare to other "fat bombs" is that it doesn't have any sweetener, so it's pure savory satisfaction. Check out her video if you want to see the whole process.
