Taco Salad Dressing: Cuisine HELP

This low-carb, sugar-free sauce will take your taco salad to the next level!

Growing up my Mom made a yummy taco salad dressing that was a staple in our family's refrigerator. It was just a bottle of Thousand Island dressing doctored up a bit, but it was instantly loved by everyone who tried it.

Not only is the original dressing full of unhealthy oils and sugar, it isn't compatible with a LCHF diet. Last week, I purposed to recreate this dressing to be keto-friendly and I was pleased with how it turned out! Give it a try and see what you think!

How I Make It

The pickles may seem like a weird addition to this dressing but it's part of the Thousand Island base. Make sure they are diced super fine. Use any sweetener you have to taste. Feel free to use whatever taco seasoning you have on hand, but if you are looking for a good homemade recipe this one is my go-to.

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup mayonnaise (try my homemade mayo)
  • 1/4 cup tomato sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dill pickles, finely diced
  • 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon keto sweetener or to taste (I used this one)
  • 1 heaping tablespoon taco seasoning

Simply mix all the ingredients in a small bowl or mason jar and refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
