Paying for what’s not included in HELPcare Clinic membership

Most years, most people won’t need care beyond what they get at no extra charge through their HELPcare Clinic membership. But sometimes you will.

That’s what insurance is for.

While HELPcare Clinic keeps costs low by not taking insurance, everyone needs some way to cover the potentially ruinous costs of hospitalization, specialty and emergency care. Some have chosen health sharing ministries like Samaritan Ministries or Medi-Share for this purpose. Zion Healthshare even provides discounted rates for members of direct primary care clinics like HELPcare Clinic.

That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new option for employers that recognizes the value of HELPcare Clinic membership and can reduce their costs of providing health insurance to employees.

North Risk Partners, a Minnesota-based insurance broker, is developing customized health plans for employers that include HELPcare Clinic membership. Combined with their other claims-reduction strategies, it creates a win-win relationship between employers and employees:

Employees keep their same in-network provider options and avoid increases in premiums, deductibles and co-pays. And as HELPcare Clinic members, they get $0 office visits, $0 lab tests and $0 for their first two generic prescription medications. That significantly reduces their out-of-pocket costs and eliminates a barrier to getting regular care they need!

Informing Open Enrollment Decisions

If you can’t change the health insurance options available to you for 2024, you may still be able to save on your health care costs through HELPcare Clinic membership. During open enrollment, you will likely be provided a menu of plans with varying deductible, co-insurance and co-payment provisions. Your monthly cost for each plan will vary, and the premium difference between plans may be larger than your monthly dues for HELPcare Clinic membership. If you have questions, discuss your individual situation with a licensed insurance agent.

From now through Nov. 9, HELPcare Clinic will be holding Open Enrollment Open House sessions every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5-8 p.m. so you can see HELPcare Clinic and discuss how membership might work for you.

Tuesdays: HELPcare Clinic Rochester, 2150 2nd ST SW, in the Southwest Chiropractic suite.
Thursdays: HELPcare Clinic Austin, 308 4th Avenue NW, just a block east of Saint Augustines.
