Change your life with HELPcare Challenge!

HELPcare Challenge could be just the help you need to improve your health!

Ever feel sluggish and wish you had more energy to get through the day? Do you struggle with cravings and feel like you don’t have willpower? Are you growing out of your clothes and don’t feel comfortable with the way you look and feel? Experiencing brain fog, inflammation, or poor sleep? Is your prescription medication list growing? Are you baffled and frustrated that you can’t seem to lose weight?

If you answered “yes” to any of those questions, you are not alone. You’re in the same camp as the participants BEFORE joining the “HELPcare Challenge to Improve your Metabolic Health”.

Through the Challenge, they discovered to their surprise that they weren’t doomed, after all, to a lifetime of ill effects that we often associate with being a “part of life” that come with aging.

The Domino Effect of Lifestyle

Dr. Mark Hyman coined the term “Feel Like Crap” (FLC) syndrome for when you feel like crap but have no real explanation as to why. There is an explanation, and it begins with lifestyle. Unhealthy lifestyle choices can trigger metabolic syndrome (high blood sugar, high triglycerides, low HDL cholesterol, high blood pressure, and obesity). Metabolic syndrome, if left to fester, can lead to serious and chronic health conditions such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and dementia/Alzheimer’s. This domino effect of the typical American lifestyle leading to poor metabolic health is not just part of normal aging. To their astonishment, participants in the HELPcare Challenge experienced a reversal of many of their ill effects when they began to change their lifestyle. They began to restore their metabolic health.

The “Why” of Lifestyle Change

Lifestyle change is simple, but not easy. Instead of thinking “inside the box” and only seeing the doughnut that’s in front of you, the Challenge participants learn how to think “outside the box" and see the bigger picture of “why” they want to make changes in their lifestyle. This approach can build powerful strength in making lifestyle changes. Perhaps you can relate to some of the reasons offered by the Challenge participants when asked why they wanted to improve their metabolic health:

  • feel comfortable in my clothes
  • have energy
  • live a healthy life
  • be the fun person I used to be
  • not be crabby
  • clearly think things out
  • remain active
  • reverse my diabetes
  • prevent another heart attack
  • be able to exercise like I used to
  • not feel bloated
  • be able to play with my grandchildren on the floor and to be active playing with them as they grow up
  • avoid amputations from diabetes like my relatives
  • keep my brain healthy and prevent dementia/Alzheimer’s
  • get off insulin
  • reduce inflammation and pain
  • feel better
  • feel stronger
  • less GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease)
  • be a good role model for children
  • good quality of life
  • get off and stay off prescription medications
  • get rid of non-alcoholic fatty liver

Next week's post will highlight the success of a few of our past challenge participants and discuss the science behind their success.
