Bringing the Social Media Revolution to Health Care

In this episode of Take Charge with HELPcare, my co-host Dan Hinmon and I discuss how we met and began working together when I founded the Mayo Clinic Social Media Network (#MCSMN).

We recount how I started Mayo Clinic's social media exploration as part of my role in leading Mayo's media relations team, and how that led to formation of an international network of health care communicators, marketers and medical professionals interested in working together to apply social media tools in the health care context.

Dan originally joined #MCSMN as part of his interest in health care marketing, but soon became involved as a member of our external advisory board and later the manager of our online community.

In this episode, we review some highlights of that work and how it has contributed to my ability to start HELPcare LLC and to provide management services to HELPcare Clinic direct primary care practices.

This episode is part of the back story of HELPcare LLC and HELPcare Clinic, and is provided for context for those interested in understanding our origins.
