Get Faster Lab Result Access via Labcorp Patient Portal

Through a group purchasing program, HELPcare receives significant discounts from Labcorp, one of the largest reference lab providers in the U.S., and we pass those savings on to our members. That's how HELPcare Premier and HELPcare Basic membership can include lab tests that would cost well over $1,000 in the hospital-based primary care system, at no extra charge to our members.

It takes a little longer to get results than at hospitals that have this reference lab testing available locally, however. A courier stops by our HELPcare Clinic offices every weekday afternoon to pick up lab specimens for transport to Labcorp's national testing for processing.

Most results are available within 48-72 hours, but one specialized thyroid test our practitioners order for most patients can take up to three weeks. That's why we typically schedule follow-up visits to review results at least three weeks after your blood draw.

If you want to get your lab test results for the faster tests as soon as they're available, without waiting for that thyroid test, you may create an online account on the Labcorp Patient portal.

Here's how:

1. Go to patient.labcorp.com and click the Create an Account button.
2. Complete the form, providing your name, address, phone and birthdate, using the email associated with your HELPcare Clinic membership as your user id, and create your password.
3. You will receive an email message with a four-digit code that you will need to confirm your address.
4. As an added privacy measure, when you log in the first time you may be asked to authenticate your identity by answering a series of 3-4 questions (e.g. the color of a vehicle you previously owned.)

Once you have your Labcorp Patient account, you'll be able to see any of your completed lab test results.

Your complete lab report also will be available in your Elation Passport account through HELPcare Clinic when all results are in, and before your follow-up appointment with your practitioner,
