HELPcare Clinic Rochester Tripling This Summer

We have some exciting news to share about the future of HELPcare Clinic in Rochester.

The Rochester Post-Bulletin recently published a story about our plans to more than triple the size of our Rochester clinic by moving into a new, 5,000‑square‑foot space at 3708 North Broadway in the Haley Center. You can read their full coverage here:
HELPcare Clinic to triple the size of its Rochester location this summer – Post Bulletin

Why we’re expanding in Rochester

When we opened our small Rochester office in early 2023, sharing space in a chiropractic office, our goal was simple: expand beyond our original Austin location and make it easier for people in southeast Minnesota to get unhurried, relationship‑based primary care on a straightforward membership.

Since then, growth has come from two directions:

  • Local employers such as Rochester Motor Cars and ActivePT have started offering HELPcare memberships to their teams, adding hundreds of new members in a short time.
  • Individuals and families have joined directly because they want predictable costs, $0 visits, and a doctor who has time to listen.

Today, we have more than 700 members in Rochester, alongside nearly 1,700 members in Austin and more than 100 in our fast‑growing new clinic in Albert Lea. The Rochester expansion is about building the capacity to serve this community well for the long term.

What the new space will offer

Our new clinic in the Haley Center will allow us to:

  • Add more exam rooms and team capacity
  • See more members each day without rushing visits
  • Maintain same‑day or next‑day access for most primary care needs
  • Create a space designed specifically for whole‑person, preventive care

We’re targeting a July–August 2026 opening, pending build‑out and inspections.

What stays the same for members

While the space will be new, the core of HELPcare does not change.

Members will continue to have:

  • $0 primary and preventive office visits
  • $0 core labs for many of the most common blood tests
  • In‑person and telehealth options
  • Longer visits focused on prevention, early detection, and root‑cause medicine

HELPcare is not insurance. It’s a membership that covers your day‑to‑day primary care and works alongside whatever health plan you already have.

We will continue to collaborate with systems like Mayo Clinic and Olmsted Medical Center when members need surgery, specialty care, or hospitalization.

A better way to pay for primary care

A recent change in federal rules now allows people to use Health Savings Account (HSA) dollars, within IRS monthly limits, to pay for direct primary care memberships like HELPcare.

For many members, that means HELPcare dues can be paid with pre‑tax money, reducing the real cost of getting consistent, preventive primary care.

What this means for employers and the community

For employers in southeast Minnesota, this expansion will:

  • Improve access for current HELPcare members
  • Create room to extend HELPcare memberships to more employees over time
  • Support earlier, relationship‑based care that can help reduce avoidable urgent care and emergency visits

For the broader community, it's one more step toward restoring primary care to what it is meant to be:
a trusted, ongoing relationship focused on keeping people well, not just reacting when they're sick.

We’re grateful to our members, employer partners, and the Rochester community for making this growth necessary. We’re building this new space for you.
