Giving Thanks
Ordinarily Dr. Dave Strobel and I would be on KAUS AM 1480 at 10:08 a.m. today for our weekly radio program, "Restoring the Soul of Health Care."
We're taking the day off for Thanksgiving, but in anticipation of the holiday we spent the second part of last week's program looking back at how God has blessed us in the past year and made HELPcare Clinic happen.
A year ago our building was an empty shell and we hadn't yet signed the lease.
HELPcare Clinic opened Feb. 1, with the first patient appointment on Feb. 4.
Now we're fully operational, seeing patients 8-5 weekdays and 8-12 on Saturdays, with some holiday exceptions as I'll discuss below.
In the illustrated recording below you'll hear Dr. Dave and I give thanks for:
- The Founding Members whose belief in the vision of HELPcare Clinic enabled us to get started.
- Our nursing team, including Hannah Blocki, Erin Dornink, Rebekah Gatzemeyer, Kathy Grabau, Heather Klouse and Pam Riley, as well as Ruthie Hoot with data support
- Stephanie Kimmes, the pediatric nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner who started working with us in May
- Our support team, including Lisa Aase, Coleen Olmsted, Lori Reuter and John Riley
- Our communications and marketing team, which includes a whole lot of Aases (Alexi, Bella, Joe and John) along with a former one, Rachel Borg, and Madeline (Strobel) Holden, and
- Almost 500 members who have joined on a monthly or annual basis, trusting us to provide most of the care they need for most of their lives.
HELPcare Clinic is closed today for Thanksgiving to enable staff to celebrate with their families, and to recognize the source of our blessings.
On Friday and Saturday, Nov. 25-26, the office will be closed but we will have a nurse on call to help assess any timely medical needs. Members may call the HELPcare Clinic office number, (507) 279-2345.
If you're a HELPcare Clinic member, we're thankful for your belief and support.
If not, we hope you'll investigate what makes HELPcare Clinic different and how you can save through membership.
