Low-Carb Hot Cocoa: Cuisine HELP

There is nothing like a cup of hot chocolate on a snowy afternoon. I found this recipe for sugar-free cocoa a couple of weeks ago and I was pleasantly surprised how delicious it is! Mix up a jar to have on hand this winter; you won't regret it!

How I Make It

I use dark chocolate bars that we get at Aldi, I'd recommend using at least 85% chocolate. When I'm ready to mix up a mug of cocoa I use 10 ounces unsweetened almond milk and 2 ounces heavy cream to 3 tablespoons of the dry cocoa mix. Just adjust to your taste preference.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cup powdered Swerve sweetener
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup collagen
  • 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • A mixture of unsweetened almond milk and heavy cream

Step-By-Step Instructions

  1. Mix sweetener, cocoa powder, collagen (if using), unsweetened chocolate, vanilla and salt in a food processor and mix until fully incorporated.
  2. Store in a jar until ready to enjoy.
  3. Heat your liquid (12 ounce combination of unsweetened almond milk and heavy cream - I like 10 ounces almond milk, 2 ounces cream) in the microwave. Once hot, stir in three tablespoons of the dry mix and enjoy!
