Employers: Learn How to Save Your Health Plan!

Southeastern Minnesota employers can learn how to stop their health care cost spiral while providing better benefits and improving employee satisfaction at the Save Your Health Plan seminar we're hosting on Wednesday, June 5 in the conference room of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce.

The program runs from 3-5 p.m. and we'll be showing how organizations with as few as 10 employees have provided them and their families $0 out-of-pocket primary care while reducing health plan costs.

Dr. David Strobel and I will start with an overview of how direct primary care works in general, and of our particular approach at HELPcare Clinic in Austin and Rochester.

Then colleagues from North Risk Partners, Colton Storla and Bernie Mackell, who have developed employer health plans that include HELPcare Clinic membership and cut monthly premiums by over 20%, will share several case studies from their practice.

Our featured speaker is Matt Ohrt, who led a transformation of the health plan for Wisconsin-based Merrill Steel, which supplied most of the steel for US Bank Stadium. Matt will describe how Merrill's self-funded health plan led to no premium increases for seven consecutive years and $5.5 million in total cost savings. Employees and their families saved $1.7 million!

Matt cofounded Self Fund Health in 2022 to help other Wisconsin employers achieve similar results, with direct primary care (DPC) clinics like HELPcare Clinic as the cornerstone.

After Matt's presentation, John Kelly of J Kelly Associates will moderate the Q&A session.

Save Your Health Plan is intended for small business owners, executives and HR leaders for employers in southeastern Minnesota. Private companies, unions, nonprofits or government entities — cities, counties or school districts — and their employees can all benefit from the strategies we'll discuss.

And if you have employees in other states, we can find a DPC clinic to serve them as part of your customized plan.

Admission is free but space is limited, so go here reserve your spot (or pass this post along to the person in your organization who is responsible for your employee health plan.)
