GOT LIFE? How HELPcare is Restoring the Soul of Health Care

HELPcare Clinic is a direct primary care practice, which means we don’t file insurance claims or take Medicare or Medical Assistance but use a membership instead.

This radically reduces administrative costs, and we share those savings with our members. Members also have peace of mind knowing that there will almost never be a bill when they come in for an office visit or for lab tests, so they aren’t afraid to go to the doctor.

HELPcare Clinic practitioners and other staff share core values which form the acronym GOT LIFE:

  • Growth Mindset: Eager to learn and engages positively with challenges. A can-do spirit.
  • Ownership: Takes responsibility to solve problems and meet needs. A self-starter…and finisher.
  • Teamwork: Collaborates well with others to serve our members and achieve practice goals.
  • Love: Patient. Kind. Compassionate. A heart to serve colleagues and members.
  • Integrity: Honest, demonstrating strong moral principles. Does the right thing.
  • Flexibility: Adapts to changing circumstances to meet needs and seize opportunities.
  • Excellence: Produces outstanding quality work in support of our mission.

The O in GOT LIFE stands for Ownership: Dr. Dave Strobel, Stephanie Kimmes, Elizabeth Hedlund and Danae Boorsma are partners who own the HELPcare Clinic practice in Austin and Rochester.

As they said in the video, as owners they’re not just cogs in a machine, and as a result patients don’t feel like they’re widgets on an assembly line.

The intent of our GOT LIFE video is to introduce practitioners to a way of doing health care that will Restore the Soul of Health Care for them and for their patients. We hope to recruit more to join the Austin and Rochester practices or to consider becoming an owner or partner in a HELPcare in another community that needs this refreshing alternative.

At HELPcare Clinic, you’re a member, not a number. You get affordable, personal care. And we HELP you take charge of your health.

My wife Lisa and I are the majority owners of HELPcare LLC, the management services organization that provides the support to enable practitioners to focus on the patients. Nurses and other HELPcare Clinic employees have opportunities for ownership in HELPcare LLC, so we all have motivation to create a great experience for patients and practitioners.

If you're unhappy with the health care status quo, click the link below that's most relevant to you, and we'd love to see how we can serve you.

Our passion is building relationships:

What kind of relationship can we build with you?
