We’re Hiring a Health Coach!

At HELPcare Clinic, our passion is building relationships. Our niche is HELPing people take charge of their health and their health care.

We're looking for a health coach who shares that passion and wants to help our members make changes that last.

For the last three years, we've been blessed to have Jane Connell, a registered dietitian from Camas, Washington, serving as our HELPcare Coach. She helped us build out this program as a great resource for our members, but now she's stepping away from this work to enjoy retirement.

Health advice is everywhere. What many people need is something more personal: a trusted guide who will listen, help them understand what their own health data is telling them, and walk with them as they build better habits one step at a time.

That's the opportunity in this role.

More Than Information

This isn't simply a matter of handing someone a list of foods to eat or exercises to try. Sustainable change requires insight, encouragement, accountability, and a plan that fits a real person's life.

Our health coach will guide members through practical changes in nutrition, movement, sleep, stress management, and other daily habits. The work will have a particular emphasis on reversing insulin resistance, improving blood sugar control, managing weight, and strengthening key metabolic health markers.

That includes conducting metabolic assessments, reviewing lab results and lifestyle patterns, using motivational interviewing to help members overcome barriers, and developing whole-food nutrition strategies that reduce dependence on ultra-processed foods.

The coach also will help members learn from continuous glucose monitoring and other biometric trends. Data can be powerful, but only when someone can turn it into clear, practical next steps. We want our members to understand not only what's happening, but what they can do about it.

Part of a Relationship Centered Care Team

One of the things that makes HELPcare different is that coaching isn't separated from primary care. Our health coach will collaborate with our practitioners and the rest of the care team, coordinate plans safely, and document progress in the electronic health record.

That team approach matters. When members have unhurried access to a practitioner and ongoing support from a coach, they have a better opportunity to address underlying causes instead of waiting until a health problem becomes a crisis.

We're looking for someone who understands medical terminology, works well with others, and brings a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Previous coaching experience is preferred.

The Kind of Person Who Will Thrive Here

Skills matter, but the right person for this role also will share our GOTLIFE values:

  • Growth Mindset - eager to learn and willing to engage positively with challenges.
  • Ownership - ready to take initiative, solve problems, and meet needs.
  • Trustworthiness - reliable, self-directed, and committed to finishing what they start.
  • Love - patient, kind, compassionate, and ready to serve members and colleagues.
  • Integrity - honest and committed to doing the right thing.
  • Flexibility - able to adapt cheerfully as circumstances change.
  • Excellence - determined to produce outstanding work in support of our mission.
