Meet Dr. David Strobel: HELPcare Clinic MD and Founder
This week we are featuring Dr. David Strobel, one of the founders and medical providers at HELPcare Clinic. Get to know a little bit about Dr. Dave, and what he hopes you will experience when you come for an appointment.
David Strobel, MD
Dr. Strobel, founder and family medicine physician at HELPcare Clinic, received his MD from the University of Minnesota Medical School. He has over 30 years of medical experience serving patients, starting with nearly two decades at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin, MN. Before HELPcare Clinic, he was most recently employed by Pipe Trades Services Minnesota Family Health and Wellness Centers.
Dr. Dave has broad medical experience, but has taken a special interest in management of complex geriatric patients. He likes to use run chart analysis to dig into patients' long-term data, which has proven to be a helpful tool for understanding the underlying causes of their symptoms. He's gifted at teaching, using analogies to help patients of all ages understand their health.
Dr. Strobel and his wife Lorene have deep ties to Austin, where they moved in 1992 after his medical residency. He's a 1981 Austin High School graduate, and even as he worked elsewhere they still lived in Austin, where Lorene continued teaching piano lessons and leading music programs. The Strobels have four grown children and are expecting their third grandchild.

On Tuesday 03 July 1990 around 3:30pm, I saw Dr Dave in an OB clinic in Sioux City, Iowa. He was also my PCP. I was an older senior college student at Morningside College. What I didn't realize that day is I must have already been dilating because he requested that I allow him to enjoy the 4th before going into labor. We laughed as I replied...I'll try. I actually didn't go to St. Luke's Hospital until 11:50pm on the 4th. My beautiful baby girl, Julia was born at 10:19am 05 July 1990 by Dr David Strobel; one of the best doctors I've ever encountered in my 61 years of life. Dr Dave, I think of you every year on her birthday but this is the first time that your name came across my timeline. I'm so proud of your continued journey and success. I expected nothing less. You were such a nice young man and I'm a good judge of character. Thank you for delivering my daughter and taking such great care of me while I lived in Sioux City.
