HELPcare Coach Unit 3 is now available for the community! Learn from Lee and Lisa about the three Nutrition Network food lists.

Unit 3 is comprised of three lessons, discussing the green, orange, and red food lists published by the Nutrition Network. Lee and Lisa go into detail about each list and share how to incorporate each into your life.
They recommend sticking to the Green food list for the most part if you are trying to lose weight and improve your metabolic health. These are foods that are nutritious, low in carbs per portion and extremely healthy.
The Orange food list is for people who have reached their goal weight and want to include some vegetables and berries on this list, or for those who are not sensitive to carbohydrates and can tolerate these vegetables and fruits. This list is also fine for an occasional sweet treat, but best to wait until you have reached your goal weight.
Our philosophy at HELPcare is that most people should avoid almost all of the foods on the red list almost all of the time. And for people with food addiction, complete abstinence from these may be necessary. For others, knowing that one can "step off the wagon" on certain special occasions, such as a birthday or holiday, can be helpful. You don't have to commit that you will never have these foods on the red list, but instances should be rare as these foods will not improve your health .
